Songs weren’t even always rebellious like in the States or the UK. It wasn’t until the late 60s that rock and roll started to be embraced more. Things started off underground as a subculture. They weren’t really into rock and roll when it first started. Super religious Jews aren’t really that much different from super religious Christians. Like many other countries, Israel didn’t openly embrace rock and roll from the start.
